April 23rd , 2024 Tues
We worked on Waymaker
4 - - - 1 - - -
5 - - - 6 - - -
We talked about a suspended 1 chord - that's when a 1 chord that should be C - E - G is played C-F-G and then you move the F down to E.
We talked about how when you play a 1 chord or a 4 chord, or a 5 chord, you can add the note just above (to the right) of the root note. It makes your chord sound better.
For next week:
Work on Waymaker for next week. Play with the track.
learn the singing melody for each.

We worked on being able to find all black keys. We played all of them to the beat up the keyboard.
We talked about how each black key is named by the white key next to it. If it is higher than the key it is being named by, it is called "sharp" (# is the symbol used before the letter to descibe the black key one half-step ABOVE it) If it is lower than the white key it is being named by, it is called "flat" (they symbol for flat looks like a lower case b with a point on the bottom)
We reviewed chords. Played Bruno Mars Count on Me. GOOD PROGRESS on that!
We played Alicia Keys "Girl On Fire" (verse and chorus below)
